I spent a lot of time on the phone with a re peat customer today. He had ordered some coil heaters from us in the past and was calling to re order. I got talking to him about all of the other products we handle and it turned out he needed a 100mm tip assembly. I quoted the Tip and explained to him that because he was a re peat customer I could put together a pricing packages for him.
A new customer called today. He was working in the tool room and came across a can of our Slide Mold Cleaner degreaser 4 part number 46910. His company had never ordered this product from any one and was used to using a catalog house cleaning agent. Having no idea where this can came from (I suggested the Slide fairy) he sampled it and loved the way it cleaned without having to wipe it off and how...
A customer called today with a Mica Band heater that he said every time he used one of the heaters with in 10 minuets they would blow. He was buying the heaters from another company but decided to give me a go at it since I had just done a few specialty ceramic bands for him to use in a different application.
A customer that I have worked with a few time called today. She went to our web site to order her normal Slide products. While she was there she noticed our tip assembly page. She has always used and ordered a locking style tip assembly and wanted to know my opinion on the non locking style tip assemblies and what would be best for her process.
Once again the main issue this week was the OEM vs the after market tip assembly issue. My customer called to order a 71 mm Sumitomo Tip. We had it in stock and shipped it the same day ups red for the next morning delivery. The customer called yesterday morning to let me know that the tip did not fit. After many hours of work between the two of us and pictures of their original tip it was determi...
This afternoon a long time distributor and I finally came to a conclusion on a issue that has plagued us for the last 6 months. I have worked with the same guy for the last 8 years. We have replaced and taken care of almost anything you could want in a injection molding facility for many of his customers.
A customer called and ordered two five gallon containers of silicone Emulsion today. Normally this would not be unusual however this time it was I had to order the product from manufacturing in IL because the bulk orders are filled per order.
Today I had a customer who had very little experience with sizing a heater band while it was on the machine. We have done a few orders together in the past. By the time the heaters arrived to the customer and he tried to put them on the machine they were to large the first time and to small the second. The reason come to find out was because he was measuring the heaters on the barrel incorrectly.
This morning we had a customer who was trying to figure out how many heaters and what kind he needed to heat his mold to a certain degree in a certain amount of time. The only piece of information that we had was the size of the mold. He is using a mold that is 375mm x 50mm x 75mm. He needed it to be heated to 238 degrees Celsius.
One of my distributors that I just started working with about six months ago called me yesterday with exciting news. He had been given the opportunity to present Slide products into a new facility. The first thing he wanted to do was check and make sure that one of our other distributors or us directly did not already deal with this customer. He knows about Heat Tech Systems Program that we run ...
Can you rebuild my screw? That was the big question of the day for me. I had a customer who has a 110 ton Cincinnati machine and a 35mm Screw with a 5 oz shot. The maintenance staff had come to him and said the tip assembly broke off breaking the screw in its wake.
The difference between the Ceramic and Mica Bands. I came across this issue today with one of my customers it’s something we run into on a regular basis. When he purchased his machine it came equipped with ceramic bands. He was calling to order a few more to put on the shelf as back up.
